Description

Create interactive maps with regions and colored markers like a hotspot. You can display the world map, continent maps and single country maps.

Installation and Configuration

Installation:

Go to: dashboard > plugins > add new > search for Interactive Geo Maps > Install and Activate

Configuration:

In the WordPress dashboard, click on the new menu item “Maps” then click Add New Give your map a relevant title.

Map Settings: General Details: Choose the map you wish to display.

Visual Settings: This is where you will control the colors, size, and font of the base map.

Regions: This is where you will control the built in regions on the selected map and the color settings for those regions. To add a new Region, you can either:

Click the button Add New Region
Click on the plus sign next to the region in the side panel labeled Region Codes

If you are adding a link to your region, put the URL in the Action Content field, then make sure you have selected “Open URL (new tab)” from the click action drop down in the default values section below.

Round Markers: You can add markers to your map in addition to or instead of regions. There are two ways to add markers:

Click the button Add New Marker
Click the map where you want the marker to be and then click the plus sign that displays in the information panel.

Markers require coordinates. If you clicked the map to add your marker, your coordinates will auto fill. If you did not click the map, you can either find the coordinates from by clicking on the map and copy pasting them, or use the reference site provided above the marker details LatLong.net.

Publish and add to page:

Once you click the publish button, a short code will generate above the publish information. Copy and paste this short code into an HTML module on the desired page.
